The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine's livestock medicine outreach program offers high school opportunities in veterinary and animal science. Its Farm Vet internship is a roughly 40-hour spring-break program for Tulare County juniors at the Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center, with visits to a cow dairy, goat dairy and beef feedlot. Applicants need a 3.0 GPA and a letter of interest, and a Milk Quality Lab internship also serves Tulare schools.
