A year-long program run locally through chambers of commerce in which students in grades 6-12 turn an idea into a real business or social venture. Students generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans and pitch to a panel of investors who can provide start-up capital, with volunteer business mentors working one-on-one with each venture. Top students go on to a national competition for college scholarships and start-up money.
