A team contest from the Rube Goldberg Institute in which students build a deliberately complicated machine that completes a simple task announced each school year. The High School division covers grades 9-12, alongside elementary, middle school and adult divisions, and each team performs three runs that are averaged for scoring. Regional events from January through March lead to national finals, and the institute also runs online and cartoon contests.
