NYO Jazz is Carnegie Hall's national youth jazz orchestra for musicians ages 16 to 19 who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled in high school or the homeschool equivalent. Each summer the musicians train in a two-week residency with jazz artists, perform a concert at Carnegie Hall with a guest artist and go on an international tour. The program is tuition-free and covers room, board and tour costs, and all applicants audition by video and receive jury feedback.
