A national challenge from NASA and Future Engineers in which student teams in grades 6-12 design an experiment to fly on a NASA-sponsored high-altitude balloon. Teams need at least four students from the same U.S. public, private or charter school, led by a teacher or school employee. The 60 winning teams each receive $1,500 to build their experiment, a starter kit with a flight box, a spot on a flight of about 4 to 8 hours at 70,000 to 95,000 feet, and virtual mentoring.
