A six-week paid summer internship at Hawaii Pacific Health and its medical centers on Oahu and Kauai for high school juniors and seniors and college students. Interns learn how hospitals operate, work alongside healthcare professionals and explore medical careers, with past placements in departments such as the emergency room, surgery, pharmacy and the neonatal intensive care unit. It runs from mid-June through July, and more than 900 students have taken part since 2004.
