A national documentary competition from C-SPAN in which middle and high school students make a 5 to 6 minute film on an annual civics theme, using clips of C-SPAN programming. Students may enter alone or in teams of up to 3, and high school entries are judged regionally in West, Central and East divisions. C-SPAN awards a total of $100,000 in cash prizes to the top 150 documentaries, with a grand prize of $5,000 per team.
