An annual essay contest from the American Society of Human Genetics for students in grades 9-12 worldwide, who write on a human genetics question that changes each year. Past topics include new genetic therapies and AI in genetic testing. ASHG members judge essays for accuracy, creativity and writing over three rounds of review. Winning students receive cash prizes, and eligible teachers can receive grants for genetics lab equipment.
